Hollywood, CA - Due to the baffling success of “Dancing with the Stars,” “Skating with the Stars” and a myriad of other celebsploitation shows that litter modern television programming, the Fox network has decided to air a new show called “Boozing with the Stars.” As with the other reality shows that share a similar formula, a cast of washed-up celebrities will be paired up with a team of professional alcoholics who will help the personalities to hone their drinking skills and then enter into a series of challenges that will showcase their aptitude for excess and grace under pressure. The celebrities that are set to do battle in the series include Tara Reid, Joe Namath, Billy Ray Cyrus, Danny Bonnaduce and former WWF star Hacksaw Jim Dugan-- many of which should have no problem slugging a few back in the competition if their past is any guide. “Boozing with the Stars” isn’t expected to air until sometime in mid-March so until then, the alcoholics that have been paired with the cast are busy training their protégés for the three day live broadcast that they hope will win them a $100, 000 purse and perhaps garner a little bit of respect from their family friends who have labeled them as “worthless drunks” for the better part of their lives.
According to Don Phelps, one of the alcoholics from the show that has been paired up with Tara Reid, “Boozing with the Stars” is a “chance of a lifetime” and one that he isn’t about to let slip away like three failed marriages and his driving privileges. “I think that I really drew a winner here. You ever seen Tara Reid go at it? Damn…that girl can drink. The other day when we were practicing for the bonging portion of the show, she was like greasy drunk lightning. I ain’t never seen somebody take down a bong like that…one beer, two beers, three beers…she took ‘em all down in less than five seconds. I am a little worried about that Bonnaduce…he’s so angry, and rage can be a valuable ally in this competition. Aside from that though, I think that I might be sippin’ on a hundred grand worth of Wild Irish Rose when it’s all said and done. Then we’ll see who the loser really is…won’t we Mom?” Although Phelps is quite confident about his chances, experts claim that Hacksaw Jim Dugan may emerge victorious because of his unabashed insanity and the threat of two-by-four violence which he plans to use as an intimidation technique much like his days in the WWF. No matter who wins the grand prize on the show, one thing is clear-- as with the other celebsploitation programs-- all of those who watch are the true victors. |
