Joseph "Honest Joe" Burkhardt Boink-Town - Joseph "Honest Joe" Burkhardt has reportedly been booted out of his house and left with no one to turn to after a commercial for his modest car dealership, "Honest Joe's Motor Cars" aired on Channel 7 last week. The commercial, which featured Burkhardt dressed in full drag telling a United States Marine that he wouldn’t marry him until he “bought a better car at a better price,” destroyed what was left of his already strained marriage and alienated him from all of his friends. Standing outside of the Boink-Town Y.M.C.A. where he is currently staying, Burkhardt struggled to understand where he went wrong, “I just don’t get it. I’ve been making commercials for over fifteen years, and I’ve never had this kind of response. Usually my friends and family are cracking up after seeing one of my ads. This last one had it all: patriotism, a man dressed as a woman…I thought that was comic gold. Look at what are considered the funniest movies of all time, Some Like it Hot, Tootsie, Mrs. Doubtfire, I followed the formula to a ‘T’... Damnit!”
According to Burkhardt’s friends, he is sorely mistaken, claiming that all of his past accolades were simply given to keep him from jumping off of Boink-Town’s infamous “Crybaby Bridge,” but say that the time had come for the charade to end. As for Honest Joe’s wife, Sissy, she says that she was already sick of seeing him cross-dressing and making up excuses for the mysterious videos such as The Butt-ler Did It, and Stick Shift that kept popping up around the house and that seeing him in a dress, courting a Marine on television, was the last straw. |
