Salivation Plumpton, WI – Thousands of Wisconsin residents will take to the pavement on Saturday to raise awareness for the self-inflicted “disease”, anorexia. In what has been described as the largest event in Plumpton, Wisconsin history, bored citizens from around the state have descended upon the downtown area in the hopes of drawing attention to a disease that has plagued attractive women everywhere.
Plumpton Mayor Bernard Rubble had faced harsh criticism for organizing the walk after many Plumpton citizens complained that an already tight budget had been compromised by a “hair-brained scheme” to bolster his political image. In its darkest hour, the town was pulled from the fiery doldrums of financial ruin when t.v. dinner juggernaut Swanson sponsored the walk and thrust its Hungry-Man line of dinners into the national spotlight. “This was really a no brainer for us”, said Swanson spokesman Mitchell Lee. “Since it’s inception in 1952, the t.v. dinner has taken its place as a supper staple in American homes. If we can only get one anorexic to substitute just two meals a day with our product, we will have made a difference in the fight against this horrific disease.” Although Hungry-Man Dinners have long been linked to obesity, Lee maintains that the often-criticized line of products has done more good than harm. “Think of it this way” Lee says, “The time you save in placing our product into a microwave instead of actual cooking can be used towards physical activity. In a way, we’re doing our part in promoting exercise and fitness. It’s science.” |
